Biographical Notes:
 Colleen was called to the Bar in 1986 and practised for 25 years in commercial and construction litigation and professional negligence claims. She has beem mediating since 1998.
Colleen has served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law teaching mediation advocacy, and from 2003 to 2007 was President of the B.C. Dispute Resolution Practicum Society (now Mediate BC), which oversees the Small Claims Court Mediation Practicum Program. She is currently a mentor to mediators in the Child Protection Mediation Practicum Program.
She was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2006.
Colleen is also the Project Manager for the Small Claims Court Pilot for the Ministry of the Attorney General, and does international negotiation training and consulting with ENS International, a global consulting network based in Sydney, Australia.
Trained in mediation through the Continuing Legal Education Society’s Advanced Civil Mediation Course and Mediating Multiparty Construction Disputes, Colleen is able to draw on her background and experience in construction, commercial, and insurance disputes in her role as lawyer, mediator, or arbitrator. She is a frequent author and speaker on mediation and litigation topics generally.

Memberships & Affiliations :
 Colleen is a Chartered Mediator of the ADR Institute of Canada and a member of the Mediate B.C. Civil and Child Protection Rosters, the Commercial Mediation Association, the Law Society of British Columbia and the Canadian Bar Association.
A long time volunteer and director of the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF), Colleen served as Chair of the National Board of LEAF from 2001 to 2003.
