Biographical Notes:

Mr. Borowicz is a senior partner and head of the Integrated Preventive Law Practice Group. He has over twenty-five years experience in labour and commercial arbitration and mediation, as well as regulatory law.

Education:

Educated at Harvard Law School, Dalhousie Law School and Loyola of Montr..al, Mr. Borowicz was formerly a professor of contract and administrative law at the University of Windsor in Ontario and the University of Victoria in British Columbia, where he was one of the Law School�s founding faculty.

Mr. Borowicz is general counsel to various professional organizations, public agencies, private companies and educational institutions, and has the highest Martindale-Hubble professional rating of AV. He is also Managing Director of the firm�s consulting arm, Dispute Management Inc.

Mr. Borowicz is designated in the Labour Relations Board Register of Arbitrators and the Forest Act Register of Timber Harvesting Contract Mediators and Arbitrators, and he is a panel member of the International Commercial Arbitration Centre. He has also been a mediation advisor and trainer to many organizations, including the Provincial Court of B.C., Ontario Court of Justice, Canadian Association of Provincial Court Judges, Singapore Supreme Court, Hong Kong Attorney General�s Chambers, World Bank, U.S. National Institutes of Health, Canadian Council of Association Executives, B.C. Treaty Commission, Freedom of Information and Privacy Commission, Labour Relations Board, Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver, B.C. Principals� & Vice-Principals� Association, College of Dental Surgeons, Registered Nurses Association and Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Mr. Borowicz has served as a member of the Law Society�s Justice Reform Task Force and Public Relations Committee, and Chair of the Administrative Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association, B.C. Branch. He has also been a frequent instructor in the Professional Legal Training Course, course coordinator and panelist for the Continuing Legal Education Society, and adjunct professor of forestry law at the University of British Columbia. He is President of the B.C. Association of Attorney Mediators, and a charter member of the Arbitrator�s Association of B.C. and the prestigious Conflict Managers Group.

Active in civic affairs, Mr. Borowicz is a Director of the Canada-China Child Health Foundation, a Director and Vice-Chair of The Vancouver Board of Trade and World Trade Centre, and is Honorary Consul of the Republic of Sri Lanka for Alberta and British Columbia.
