RATES & PAYMENT INFORMATION

Rates: $275 per hour: Actual costs are billed for disbursements. For air travel and hotels, economy rates and available discounts are sought and booked. Only in an exceptional circumstance is there any charge for photocopying, postage, disks or mileage.
Decisions are issued within the time specified in the agreement or another time agreed by the parties. At the end of the proceedings a specific decision date, usually three weeks later, is identified. If an unavoidable delay occurs, a new date is identified. Decisions are delivered by fax, mail or courier, (with an accompanying electronic copy on disk) or email.

Payment: Parties are expected to pay accounts promptly or speak to me if there is any concern with an account. Interest and other charges are not added to overdue accounts. Interim accounts for fees and disbursements are submitted during prolonged proceedings or at any time requested by a party.

Cancellation Policy: If timely notice of cancellation or adjournment is received, no fee is charged. The circumstances when a fee may be charged and the amount of the fee are as follows:
• One scheduled day of hearing is cancelled or adjourned on the workday immediately before the scheduled date, the fee is $1,375.
• Two or three consecutively scheduled days are cancelled or adjourned within one week of the first scheduled date of proceedings, the fee is $1,650.

• Four or more consecutively scheduled days are cancelled or adjourned on the workday immediately before the first scheduled date of proceedings, the fee is $4,400.
• In circumstances of earlier notice, regardless of the number of scheduled days, when a disbursement, such as a hotel cancellation charge, has been incurred a $300 fee for administrative services is charged. If the hourly fees for pre-hearing services equal or exceed $300, no administrative services fee is charged.
When six or more consecutive days are to be scheduled, I may ask you to consider other circumstances and amounts.
If I am paid for other work for all or part of the first scheduled day of proceedings that is adjourned or cancelled, the fee is reduced or not charged.
