Biographical Notes:
Since my call to the Bar in 1992 I have practiced law in areas ranging from personal injury, insurance, medical malpractice, general commercial litigation, wills and estates and family law. My focus throughout has been the efficient and effective resolution of the conflict at hand in ways that promote the health and well-being of the parties in dispute and maintain working relationships where possible. For 19 years I have negotiated, settled claims and resolved disputes for my clients, from both a plaintiff and defence perspective, largely without the need for more formal litigation mechanisms. In 2005, my career-long commitment to alternative means of resolving disputes led me to the formal study of conflict resolution and mediation training, since which I have mediated diverse areas of conflict.
In addition to mediating and managing Quantum Mediation, I have taken on the position of Mediator Roster Manager for Mediate B.C. As Roster Manager I oversee all aspects of Roster membership, liase with law groups, corporations and legal interest groups to raise awareness of and proficiency with mediation

1985-1988: 3 years toward English (Honours) B.A. UBC
1988: early acceptance to UBC Law
l99l: LLB University of British Columbia
1991-1992: completion of PLTC and full rotation articles with Ferguson Gifford
1992: Called to the Bar of British Columbia
ADR TRAINING:
2005-2008: CLE training in mediation, including fundamentals, advanced training, and
negotiation
2008-2009: Acceptance into and completion of B.C. Provincial Court Mediation
Practicum program
2009: Acceptance as member of the Civil Roster of Mediate B.C.
2009 and ongoing: Continued training through CLE and the Justice Institute in multiparty
mediation, negotiation, conflict resolution.
