Biographical Notes:
Prior to entering private practice as an arbitrator/mediator, Mr. Lanyon was Chair of the Labour Relations Board of British Columbia, 1992-1996.
Mr. Lanyon graduated from UBC Law School in 1977. He practiced civil and criminal law and later labour law until 1992.
Mr. Lanyon has been an adjunct professor in the Faculty of Law, UBC. He has also been an adjunct professor and Co-Director of the Centre for Labour and Management Studies, Faculty of Commerce, UBC. He has written and published numerous articles on labour law.
Mr. Lanyon is a mediator/arbitrator in both the private and public sectors and has acted a a neutral in virtually every sector of the economy. Mr. Lanyon is a member of the National Academy of Arbitrators.
Mr. Lanyon was Co-Chair of two 1998 Legislative Committees on Labour Law Reform.
